Credit unions recognized at MSCUA Annual Meeting & Convention

BILOXI, MS (05/16/19) - At their annual meeting and convention, the Mississippi Credit Union Association was proud to recognize credit unions and individuals for their achievements: 

  • Jackson Area Federal Credit Union was recognized as the top fundraiser for Credit Unions for Kids last year.  During 2018, the credit union raised $15,235 to benefit Mississippi's only children's hospital, the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson.
  • Recognized for being nominated to the Mississippi Credit Union Hall of Fame were:  Pam Cotten, Statewide Federal Credit Union and Dr. Richard Miller, Mississippi Federal Credit Union (posthumous)
     
  • Milestone anniversary recognitions:
    • Issaquena Federal Credit Union was recognized for 50 years of service. The credit union is headquartered in Mayersville, MS and has $1 million in assets and almost 500 members.
    • AMPOT Federal Credit Union was recognized for 50 years of service.  The credit union is located in Hamilton, MS and has $9 million in assets, and serves more than 1,300 members.

Credit unions were recognized for their efforts to actively promote and advocate on behalf of credit unions and for their efforts to support credit union advocacy initiatives.  There are five initiatives in the Mississippi Credit Union Advocacy Award Program.

Credit unions completing all five of the initiatives received a Magnolia Advocacy Award:

  • Keesler FCU
  • Magnolia FCU
  • Meridian Mutual FCU
  • MUNA FCU
  • Mutual CU
  • Sunbelt FCU

Credit unions completing at least three of the five advocacy initiatives earn a Delta Advocacy Award:

  • 1st Mississippi FCU
  • CommFirst FCU
  • Eagle Express FCU
  • Ferguson FCU
  • Gulf Coast Community FCU
  • Hope FCU
  • Jackson Area FCU
  • Members Exchange CU
  • Mississippi DHS FCU
  • Mississippi FCU
  • Navigator CU
  • Rivertrust FCU
  • Singing River FCU
  • Statewide FCU
  • Triangle FCU
