Position Summary:
We are looking for someone that exhibits an extremely team-oriented and outgoing attitude. The right candidate will be an organized, goal and results-oriented self-starter, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and a dynamic work ethic.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Assisting members with all basic aspects of their accounts, opening, closing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, processing loan applications, serving as loan officer & assisting members with electronic access, etc.  An important aspect of this position is to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service.


  • 2-4 years of work experience in a similar field.
  • Prior banking/credit union, customer service experience, or lending experience is a plus. Good communication, organizational and computer skills are essential to this position.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows, Excel and Word required. 
  • Working knowledge of CruiseNet software helpful.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work as a team member and follow directions is a must.

Mortgage Loan Originator

Job Summary
Originate in-house and secondary market real estate loans in compliance with investor requirements and all state and federal laws and regulations.  Proactively solicit new mortgage loan business while promoting Gulf Coast Community FCU products and services to existing and potential members.  This position will be based primarily out of D'Iberville, MS.

Duties & Responsibilitie

  • Develop mortgage loan business through internal or external sources 
  • Interview mortgage loan applicants and assist in the application process 
  • Maintain contact with loan applicant to communicate progress of the application and gather documentation as needed
  • Complete mortgage loan applications for submission to processing and underwriting
  • Evaluate loan requests and analyze financial data to determine qualification of collateral and loan applicant credit history
  • Effectively and clearly communicate with a variety of audiences
  • Prepare mortgage loan files for underwriting and closing
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, HMDA and Office of Foreign Assets Control
  • Consistently achieve production goals
  • Refer Credit Union products and services appropriately
  • Demonstrate understanding of mortgage loan processing, underwriting and closing procedures
  • Ability to keep abreast of changing policies and procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, Construction and In-house mortgage loans in accordance with FHLMC and secondary market rules and regulations
  • Assist within the department as directed by management

Chief Lending Officer

Navigator Credit Union is looking for a full-time Chief Lending Officer.  This position is located in Pascagoula, MS.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Propose, initiate and oversee all loan programs provided by the credit union; assure that lending activities of the credit union meet the needs of the members, comply with all organizational policy and regulatory requirements and are administered to minimize risk to the financial institution. Ultimately responsible that the lending goals are set and achieved. Develops and oversees implementation of loan policies, products and strategies. This position oversees Collections, Titles/insurance, Consumer Lending, and Mortgage departments.

EXPERIENCE:   A minimum of ten years of lending and management experience including time spent in preparatory positions. 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or a minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience with a credit union or other financial institution. 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:  Evaluate requests for workouts of loan problems through personal interaction with members or staff representatives to devise solutions which encourage continued payment of loans and assess the options available to the member.  Maintain and review monthly statistics and reports to evaluate quality of loan applications submitted from various dealers and the quality of loan decisions made by underwriters. Direct the development and implementation of an annual budget for the various lending departments of the credit union assuring that information submitted accurately reflects projected revenue and expenses. Perform random monitoring of lending activity to assure appropriate lending decisions are being made by staff and that loans are within the guidelines of the credit union. Make recommendations for changes or additions to loan programs, processes or services which offer expanded benefits to financial institution’s members. Implements approved loan products and processes throughout the financial institution. Review loan documentation to ensure that it accurately describes loan products and remains in compliance with lending regulations. Update policy and procedure manuals as needed. Manage direct reports to maximize productivity and efficiency of the credit union, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules.  Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:   A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in this position.  Must be able to conduct in-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with internal and external members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.   Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on your own as well as part of a team.  Must have able to maintain composure in stressful situations.  Must have expertise in current lending regulations and compliances involved within this field.

Branch Manager, Magee MS

Card Services Specialist, Tylertown MS

Under the direction of the Risk Manager, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, preserves the credit union’s assets by conducting quality control inspections on the credit card and debit card programs.  Preparing weekly, monthly and quality control audit reports, and providing administrative and clerical support.  Maintain record keeping of cards issued, blocked and stolen along with audit finding, corrections and examiner reports. Maintain level of proficiency by keeping current in knowledge of laws, regulations and Credit Union policies. 

Responsibilities include providing internal credit union support, credit management, relationship management with cardholders, vendors, risk and fraud management.  Review of file maintenance reports to verify all applicable policies and procedures are being followed within the organization. The Card Services Specialist will ensure that all interactions with the cardholders and credit union staff are handled professionally, accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring optimal member service, integrity and profitability. This position will also provide support to the risk management and compliance functions to assist in day to day assignments.

Facilities Support Assistant, Tylertown MS

Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Assistant is responsible for assigned repairs and maintenance, assistance with security and emergency situations that may affect our ability to open for business. Serve as the primary contact for performing courier duties for the movement of secured documents between credit union locations, post office and supply facilities. Additionally, this position will ensure that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained and all common areas are maintained in a clean aesthetically appealing condition.
