Mississippi Credit Union Hall of Fame
The Mississippi Credit Union Hall of Fame recognizes the commitment, leadership and dedication that deserving individuals have made to the credit union movement. Tenure of service, contributions, achievements and the impact the individual has made not only at their respective credit union(s), but also in the industry, are among the considerations. The inductee(s) for the current year received special recognition at our Annual Meeting & Convention, which is held in May of each year. Hall of Fame nominations are due no later than April 1 of the current year.

Each May during our Annual Meeting & Convention, the Mississippi Credit Union Association honors Mississippi credit union leaders who have passed away during the past 12 months. If you wish to submit the name of an individual who served your credit union as an employee or elected or appointed official and who has passed away during the last year, please complete the form below to help us prepare to honor the individual’s memory. Memorials are due no later than April 1 of the current year.
Recognizes credit unions & individuals that participate in advocacy initiatives structured in defense of the credit union movement. Simply complete 3 or more advocacy initiatives in a calendar year for recognition. Click here for details. You can also visit the Governmental Affairs section of our website.
National Credit Union Recognition Award Programs
The Mississippi Credit Union Association accepts entries from Mississippi credit unions for the National Credit Union Recognition Programs. Credit unions winning 1st place at the state-level competition are forwarded on to CUNA for judging in the national competition. Award entries are due to MSCUA no later than August 15 of each year.
Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Award
Recognizes a credit union or chapter for its community involvement in an activity that helps other people or strengthens the structure of their community. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, raising funds for a charity, community involvement projects, such as a volunteer fair, building low-income housing, or collecting contributions for a food bank. Educational activities, such as tutoring at a local school or programs that support financial literacy, are also eligible activities. Credit union chapters and individual credit unions are eligible to enter.
Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action
Recognizes a credit union for programs and activities offered to its membership. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, member programs for youth, seniors, or other groups that are often economically challenged and programs that do an extraordinary job of encouraging money management and consumer financial education. Only individual credit unions are eligible to enter.
Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award
Recognizes leadership on behalf of youth financial literacy. It considers all activities supporting the personal finance education of young (18 and under) members and nonmembers including, but not limited to, face-to-face teaching, publicity, lobbying for curriculum requirements, teacher and volunteer training, and promotion and use of the NEFE High School Financial Planning Program (involvement in the NEFE program is not required for entries). Leagues, credit union chapters (or groups) and individual credit unions are eligible to enter.
