Mississippi Credit Union Cooperative Campaign

Mississippi credit unions are cooperating together to conduct a new member promotion that will award cash prizes totaling $50,000.  During the last four years, the goal of our statewide campaign was to increase credit union awareness, and this year our focus is to increase credit union membership and measure the results of our efforts.

The campaign will run May 1, 2013 - October 31, 2013.  If your credit union would like to participate in the MISSISSIPPI CREDIT UNION COLOSSAL CASH GIVE-AWAY, please return this pledge form.  The $50,000 prize money will be divide by the participating credit unions on a per Mississippi member basis. The cost is currently around .17 cents per Mississippi member.

An existing member will take a referral card and write their name on the card and give it to a prospective new member who has not joined the credit union. The new member will bring the card to the credit union and open a share account.  The new member’s name will be listed on the same referral card.  If that card is drawn both members win; the referring member and the new member.  The referring member and the new member must be from the same credit union.

If the new member also opens a share draft or loan account (including a credit card), the credit union will complete and enter a second (2nd) referral card as a bonus.  The limit is two (2) entries per each new member.  The new member can then begin referring their friends and family and have additional referral cards in the drawing. 

There is no entry limit for referring members.  Members can give all of their friends and family referral cards, and enter into the promotion many times as new members follow through and open a credit union account.  The contest will run May 1, 2013 – October 31, 2013.  There will be six (6) monthly drawing from the referral cards submitted during each month, and a grand prize drawing at the end of the promotion from all of the referral cards submitted.

The monthly prize will be $5,000 which will be split between the two names on the referral card.  The grand prize will be $20,000 which will be split between the two names on the referral card.

Credit union officials, employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.  However, they can still refer new members to the credit union, and the credit union’s name will be listed as the “referring” member.  If a referral card is drawn and the credit union’s name is listed as the referring member, the credit union will win the prize money.  Members must be in good standing with the credit union, and must be at least age 18 to enter the promotion.  The link to the official rules is http://www.mscua.com/cashgiveaway/.
