Credit Unions and the Community

Most credit unions are locally owned by their members, so we take pride in being a part of the community. We are part of a strong national/international movement, but our commitment begins at home. Credit unions continually give back to their communities, putting the credit union philosophy of "People helping People" into constant action and Mississippi credit unions are no exception. Individual credit unions help support a variety of community organizations and events through donations, sponsorship and volunteering.
On a national level, the Credit Unions for Kids program brings credit unions across the nation together in support of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Since it was founded in 1996, this credit union specific program has raised more than 55 million dollars to benefit CMN hospitals, including the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, located in Jackson, MS.
In 2007, through the Credit Unions for Kids program, Mississippi credit unions contributed over $52,000 to the children's hospitals that treat Mississippi's children.
