This year, Mississippi credit unions take on a "fresh" message as we license a new television commercial produced by the FL/AL Association. The ad basically talks straight to the consumer by saying “60% of you don’t know what a credit union is” and then relates that to not knowing about and missing out on other wonderful things in life, such as what a hug feels like or what chocolate tastes like. Then it goes on to add “A credit union is a better place to do your banking, checking, saving, loans…everything.”
Mississippi joins the credit unions of Alabama and Florida in using this campaign, which means a unified message will benefit all as it bleeds across state lines in many market areas, including east & coastal Mississippi.
We'll also continue utilizing a social media consultant to coordinate content that can be used by credit unions to increase awareness outreach through social media, websites and newsletters.
Both strategies can benefit all credit unions and continue to increase credit union awareness to a wide range of audiences across the state.
We again respectfully requested a 66 cent per Mississippi member cooperative awareness campaign contribution. A link to the campaign pledge form is at the top of the page. All money contributed by credit unions will be used to purchase advertising.
Working together, credit unions can accomplish more than they are able to achieve on an individual basis. Cooperation among credit unions is the true foundation of their strength!
