Assistant Vice President – Consumer Lending

Keesler Federal Credit Union, headquartered in the beautiful gulf coast Biloxi, MS, is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Consumer Lending. This is a senior level position which reports directly to the Sr. Vice President/ Chief Lending Officer. Responsibilities include but are limited to managing the overall operations of the Lending Call Center , Credit Card Portfolio, Student Loan Portfolio, Loan Operations,  Underwriting and Financial Counseling;  ensuring that consumer lending operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures and legal requirements; managing of the consumer loan portfolio and development of new credit union underwriting criteria; ensuring that the lending and credit card activities result in maximum volume, appropriate profit for the credit union, and a minimal delinquency ratio and analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of consumer lending services; assisting with research in the development, training and implementation of new products, services , and technologies; resolves member complaints involving consumer loan decisions or errors on their accounts and responds to general correspondence.

The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of NCUA, Federal and State Regulations as relates to consumer lending, call center, including but not limited to ECOA, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, etc., exceptional knowledge and understanding of financial institution lending guidelines and all aspects of consumer lending, excellent underwriting skills, strong analytical and reasoning skills and the confidence and decisiveness to make sound judgments in the loan approval function.

Primary Duties:

  • Duties require maximum public contact with members, potential members and fellow employees.  Must maintain a cooperative and positive attitude. 
  • Maintains high accuracy in handling of all transactions and assigned duties, especially those dealing with cash and members’ accounts.  Remain compliant with Credit Union check handling policies.
  • Maintains referral/sales goals such as deposits/loans and other services at the acceptable level as determined by the Credit Union.

Assistant to the President and CEO

Primary Duties:

  • Assist the Credit Union executive management team in the accomplishment of operational responsibilities by performing a variety of administrative functions.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment in making decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Identify, analyze and correct problems that affect orderly flow of work in the office of the President/CEO.
  • Answer and screen calls/visits and provide excellent service wherever possible.  Also, in the event that a contact needs to be made by a member of the Senior Management Team, distribute complete messages including name, title, company, purpose of the call, phone number and email address to that party.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports for the Board and Management Reporting Package accurately and in a timely manner.  Ensure that reports have been sent securely to all appropriate individuals.
  • Update emergency procedures, contact flowchart, security manual for    Corporate Office and update branch contingency plans twice annually. 
  • Enter all supply orders in the appropriate system on a bi-weekly basis.  Inform the Executive Vice President or the President and CEO in order to obtain approval.  Submit invoices to the Executive Vice President for payment. 
  • Act as liaison for all copiers at the Corporate Office and all branches (service and maintenance).
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, etc., as needed for the President and Chief   Executive Officer, Executive Vice President and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Assist with Business Development activities in the Jackson metropolitan area and other markets as needed. 
  • Review Verafin for Fraud and other issues on a daily basis.  Bring issues to the Branch Manager, Executive Vice President and the President and CEO’s attention.
  • Update the website and telephone call system as necessary. 
  • Assist with random audits within the Corporate Office and the branches.  Also, will assist in gathering documents for the audits and act as a liaison with auditors and examiners when requested. 
  • Perform special assignments and administrative duties that may involve specialized aspects of the executive team’s responsibilities.
  • Represent the organization on various committees and Credit Union sponsored employee programs.
  • Accountable to the President and Chief Executive Officer for the completion of assignments in an accurate and timely manner, and for promoting and sustaining a favorable organization/Credit Union image.

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the credit union’s lending services including consumer, real estate and business loan services.  This individual will also oversee our collection department. Senior Accountant / Team Leader
