Member Service Advisor (Full Time)

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, develop new business through the promotion of Credit Union offerings to new and existing members. Be responsible for generating new and increased loan volume. Uncover member needs through personal contact and cross-sell products, automated services and other services to meet these member needs as outlined in established Credit Union goals. Also, assist Branch Management by making recommendations on refunding fees and charges to members. Perform a variety of savings related services and loan related duties.

Also perform diversified Teller duties involving receipt and payment of cash, identification of Member needs and recommendation of appropriate Credit Union products and services. Provide high quality member service in a courteous manner to all contacts. Cash negotiable instruments, sell gift cards and money orders, and process member requests. Verify all cash amounts received, enter transactions into on-line computer, summarize and close out all transactions at the close of the day. Perform additional duties, such as but not limited to, training transferred employees, providing member service duties, handling currency vault, and processing branch settlement.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Equivalent to High School education with additional broad specialized training equivalent to 2 years college. Experience can be credited in lieu of education.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years sales experience with a financial institution. Experience interviewing loan applicants and an understanding of underwriting with the ability to recommend loan decisions. And a minimum of 18 months teller experience.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Vice President Compliance

Mutual Credit Union, Vicksburg, MS, is seeking a Vice President Compliance.  Responsible for ensuring the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with the appropriate laws and regulations. Analyzes new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union's current practices. Develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensures all affected areas of the Credit Union are kept informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time.

  • Analyzes new and pending laws which will affect the Credit Union's current operations, develops and periodically reviews and updates the policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, notifies all affected parties of changes and the new procedures adopted. Serves as BSA Officer for Mutual.
  • Develops and implements a compliance program to effectively review specific areas of the Credit Union for compliance.
  • Coordinates projects that involve information disclosure and policy changes to inform staff of procedures that must be complied with.
  • Prepares and presents periodic reports to the Board of Directors concerning the Credit Union's current record of compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with all provisions of Mutual Credit Union and governmental regulations; policies and procedures.
  • Develops a library of compliance resources.

  • Analyze the work flow of the member services structure in all areas, and recommend changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.  Personally fill in to assist with any area of the branch operations when needed.
  • Monitor market conditions and changes to financial services/products; research and recommend new/improved services/products to the CEO.
  • Keep branch clean, clutter free, welcoming, and have the proper marketing material displayed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union products and services and the legal, regulatory and compliance issues that may affect them.
