General Summary

  • Responsible for approving and denying Consumer loans to achieve profitable member and asset growth.
  • Identifies and calculates risk, works with staff to gather proper paperwork needed to assess loans.
  • Maintains a professional approach to assessing the credit needs while following the established Lending Policies, Procedures and guidelines of the Credit Union and Federal/State rules and regulations.
  • Promote and cross sell credit union products and services for all consumer loans that are underwritten.
  • This position also maintains thorough knowledge of lending products and services and understands the department’s internal processes that support these products and services.

Job Specifications

Mortgage Manager

Central Sunbelt Federal Credit Union in Laurel, Mississippi, with almost $200 million in assets and six branch locations, is looking for a Mortgage Manager to join their winning team.

This individual will be charged with providing information on credit union products and services to loan staff/members in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and State and Federal rules and regulations.  This individual will be responsible for interviewing and evaluating applicants for mortgage loans, processing various loan applications, preparing closing documents and setting up closing.  Additionally this person will also gather background information, analyze loan applicants’ credit history and submit an approval package to the mortgage underwriter for review.

This is a department of one initially and will require a candidate with high energy, organization, great technical skills, intellect and be an analytical thinker possessing a high work ethic.  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment are a must.  Experience in mortgage origination, processing and credit review for at least 3 years is preferred.

Vice President of Consumer Lending

Keesler Federal Credit Union, a $2.1 billion financial institution on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast, is seeking a Vice President of Consumer Lending. This is a senior level position which reports directly to the Sr. Vice President/ Chief Lending Officer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the overall operations of the Consumer Lending areas, including Express Lending Call Center, Indirect Lending Department, Credit Card Portfolio, Student Loan Portfolio, Loan Workout Specialist , Lending Operating Systems Administrator, Decision Makers and Financial Counselor;  ensuring that consumer lending and indirect operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures,  and legal requirements and are properly documented; managing of the consumer loan, indirect  and credit card portfolio and development of new credit union underwriting criteria; ensuring that the lending and credit card activities result in maximum volume, appropriate profit for the credit union, and a minimal delinquency ratio and analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of consumer lending services; assisting with research in the development, training and implementation of new products, services , and technologies; resolves member complaints involving consumer and indirect loan decisions or errors on their accounts and responds to general correspondence.

Minimum requirements: Minimum of 10 years’ experience with strong progressive consumer lending experience and progressive management experience. Requires 5-8 years in indirect lending (dealerships), excellent management and analytical skills and an equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). The ideal candidate must possess knowledge of NCUA, Federal and State Regulations as relates to consumer lending, call center, including but not limited to ECOA, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, etc., exceptional knowledge and understanding of financial institution lending guidelines and all aspects of consumer lending, excellent underwriting skills, strong analytical and reasoning skills and the confidence and decisiveness to make sound judgments in the loan approval function.

Lending Service Center Representative (Full-time)

DEPARTMENT:  Navigator Credit Union Lending Service Center (Consumer Lending ) (W.T. Avara Building in Pascagoula, MS)


  • To assist members and potential members with their lending needs;
  • explain loan options, schedule loan closings, process and load loan applications, track supporting loan documents;
  • duties also include cross-selling, solicit loans members have elsewhere, accurate record keeping and serving as a liaison between members and Lending Department personnel;
  • perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Six months to two years of similar or related experience recommended.

EDUCATION: Equivalent to a high school education required.


  • To provide accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to every person calling Navigator Credit Union;
  • to answer telephone calls within three rings and handle 2000+ calls per month; to be able to operate general office machines, including personal computers and calculators.


  • Must possess courtesy, tact and diplomacy skills while working one-on-one with callers when giving information that may require assistance and discussion.

Navigator Credit Union is currently searching for a talented Human Resources Generalist (Full-time) who is seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact in the Human Resources Department with a growing up and coming Credit Union. 

POSITION:  Human Resources Generalist (Full-time)

DEPARTMENT:  Human Resources (W. T. Avara Building In Pascagoula, MS)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Process government reporting and compliance per regulations; Process internal HR reporting; Process worker’s compensation; Responsible for annual review of company’s employee manual; Support employee relations as needed and provide general support services; Assists in administering the organization’s benefit programs as well as consult and advise employees on their eligibility for benefits; Provide assistance to CHRO including data entry, filing, answering phones, scheduling, maintaining files, records and lists; Facilitate new team member recruitment, interviewing and hiring process; Attend Career Fairs as needed; Update employee job descriptions, develop job opening announcements for internal and external notification and assist CHRO with typing as requested.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:  Degree in Human Resources and 3 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field plus 5 years HR experience.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:     Previous customer service and clerical experience required. Must possess a strong overall knowledge of Human Resources, especially all legal aspects. Must be familiar with FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, EEOC and other federal, state employment laws.  Must be familiar with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:    Good problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to arising problems. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and comfortable with using database programs. Must be able to communicate effectively with people both verbally and in writing (listens and understands problems and assist staff) at all levels as needed. Must have excellent people skills.
